Who We Are
Our Roots
Here at The Valley of Achor, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2021, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring the discussion of suicide awareness and mental health to young people using the platform of fishing. With thousands of teenager involved in competitive fishing around the country, we feel it is important to have these discussions after losing our 16-year-old son to suicide in January 2021. It is important for them to know there is always hope and there is always someone who will listen even in their darkest moments. In addition to bringing awareness and getting people talking about this difficult topic, our goal is to present a graduating high schooler with a scholarship in our sons name each year if he or she is going to continue competitive fishing in college. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

Bringing Change
Kevin Bradley Whitmire Memorial Scholarship
At Valley of Achor, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Health Clinic is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
Therefore, behold, I am going to persuade her,
Bring her into the wilderness,
And speak kindly to her.
Then I will give her her vineyards from there,
And the Valley of Achor as a door of hope.
And she will respond there as in the days of her youth,
As in the day when she went out from the land of Egypt.
On that day I will also make a covenant for them
With the animals of the field,
The birds of the sky,
And the crawling things of the ground.
And I will eliminate the bow, the sword, and war from the land,
And will let them lie down in safety.
